Description: This is a Stereo Card of the President of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition C. C. Moore speaking on Fraternal Insurance Societies day in April 1915 at the Panama Pacific International Exposition of 1915 in San Francisco, California. It is from the RARE Keystone 100 card “Panama Pacific International Exposition” set (the cards are numbered 1-100 on the back) from 1915 and shows great details. This is a very rare and desirable set whose views are rarely seen for sale on eBay or other sites. This card is titled “C. C. Moore, President of the Panama-Pacific Int. Exp., Speaking, Fraternal Insurance Societies Day, San Francisco, Calif.” with a position number of 23 and a Keystone negative number of 17811. This card is in near mint to mint condition and measures 3 ½” by 7”. The back of the card is printed with information about the subject. The Panama–Pacific International Exposition (PPIE or P.P.I.E.) was a world's fair held in San Francisco, in the United States, between February 20 and December 4 in 1915. Its purpose was to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal, but it was widely seen in the city as an opportunity to showcase its recovery from the 1906 earthquake. The fair was constructed on a 635 acre site in San Francisco, along the northern shore now known as the Marina District. 24 nations participated in the exposition that was attended by nearly 19 million visitors. Special events included the 1915 American Grand Prize and Vanderbilt Cup auto races held February 27 and March 6 on a 3.84-mile circuit set up around the Exposition grounds and a display of the Liberty Bell. After this, the Liberty Bell returned to Pennsylvania, and has not been moved since. I will be listing more Stereoviews on a regular basis, so check back for more views. Don’t miss out!
