Keith Hernandez started his career with the St. Louis Cardinals 1975-1983, making a couple All-Star teams and winning the 1982 World Series Championship with the Cardinals. He was the NL Batting Champion and Most Valuable Player in 1979. After going to the Mets from 1983-1989, he continued his streak of 11 straight Gold Gloves, made 3 more All-Star teams and won a World Series with New York in 1986. He's widely considered as the greatest defensive First Baseman in history. Hernandez was a two-time Silver Slugger award winner, batted .296 with 2182 Hits, 162 Home Runs and 1,071 RBI in his career. He's in both the Cardinals and Mets Halls of Fame, and his Number 17 is retired in New York. Following his baseball career, Hernandez has done acting in some television series and published 5 books. He's also done commentary on both Mets tv broadcasts and Fox national tv broadcasts.
