The efficient and well-regarded 11AFAC self-winding movement uses Bulova's unique "Breguet" coupling, which is among the most trouble-free and reliable automatic switching mechanisms ever invented. The large balance is high-grade "glucydur", and the balance jewels include shock-resistance. For me, this watch is fully-wound well before the day's end, and it is as accurate now as they were expected to be back in 1962. The gold-over-black combination make for a stunning look. The dial is original (not refinished) and in mint condition. The hands are in pristine shape as well; even the lume, which is not radium, is in good shape and the counterpoised second hand is another cool design feature. The gold-filled case does have some wear through to the brass in some places - for example, corner tops, inside of lugs near springbars, etc. - but one can easily see that it still has many years of service left to give. Though this watch has some shock and water resistant features, it is a vintage dress watch. There is NO guarantee with regard to damage from moisture or severe shock.
