It has a patent date of May 11 1872 and has no damage.The sculpture was repainted in a color that was too dark and it was doneto hide some flaking. It has been stripped and restored and has minortouch up in the areas of missing paint. Over 90% of its original paintis still on the group. This is the light color that was painted on this sculpturein the Rogers studio. The sculpture has all of its details and will display well. This is the "B" variation of the We Boys group. The "A" variation has the horseshead down and he has all four legs in the water. This group is also the most common.Fewer of the "B" variation are found today and many are not found in this condition.A gem of a group if you are a collector or just searching for this statue in great condition.
