Description: Jeff Shapiro Wood Fired Stoneware Vase (ca. 1980). Signed on bottom of both the vase. Anagama fired and glazed with ash deposits. Faded matte black with areas of maroon and brown. In good condition with minor wear conducive to age and firing process. Size: 11 1/8”H x 5.75”D Jeff Shapiro was born in the Bronx, NY in 1949. He presently works and lives in upstate NY with his wife Hinako. He studied ceramic arts while living in Japan for 9 years from 1973-1981. His work has been exhibited internationally in: Germany, France, Italy, Australia, Switzerland, Canada, England, and Japan.
