Description: Japanese 48mm timber chisel (tataki nomi) by 2nd generation Kikuhiromaru (菊弘丸). Mentori (chamfered edge). A larger chisel for bigger jobs. Use and long term storage so will have scratches, minor dents and minimal surface rust. Lots of life left in this old workhorse! Hand forged by Shouji Nagayoshi (Kikuhiromaru II). The newer Kikuhiromaru aren’t made by hand anymore. Kikuhiromaru chisels are a favorite of carpenters in Japan because of their high quality cutting edge at a reasonable price.
