Instead of cuprous oxide, the dual-biocide formula uses copper-free Econea to prevent hard fouling and Biolux technology to control slime. With its ablative formula, Pacifica Plus self-polishes as the boat is used. This lowers fuel consumption and helps to reduce the amount of harmful carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide released into the air. And with its high-solids formula, the amount of VOCs released into the air is reduced for an additional benefit to the environment. The self-polishing ablative action of Pacifica Plus also reduces paint build-up along with the need for sanding at haulout. And because Pacifica Plus uses Econea rather than cuprous oxide as its primary biocide, this paint can safely be used on aluminum hulls outboards and outdrives without fear of galvanic corrosion.
