Description: INFANTRY IN BATTLE. Washington D. C.: The Infantry Journal. 1939. 8o. Third edition. Publisher’s black cloth lettered in gilt, in the dust jacket. A scarce volume depicting the “realities of war and the extremely difficult and highly disconcerting conditions under which tactical problems must be solved in the face of the enemy”. A nice example coming from the Polish Institute and Sikorski Museum with various stamps throughout the book. Aside from this, the book generally fine, a few light marks but clean and bright, the binding tight and square, the black cloth clean. The scarce dust jacket complete, price-clipped, several small tears, nicks, child and rubbing to corners and edges, stamp to front panel, some creasing, small brown rectangle to upper edge, some stains to rear panel. Uncommon.
