Description: Indian Wars 1872 Canteen Spout Twisted Ring. Brand new brass construction with brass safety chain. Note: these are not the knock offs of mine being sold elsewhere, and are made from the correct gage brass! These will actually hold your solder. Ring comes complete with pre-twisted loop to connect cork chain. Because the brass is thin wire, you will need to bend it around your canteen spout and attach to your canteen cork. Finish with soldering or JB weld/epoxying shut. Photos in listing show installed rings on both an 1872 and 1874 duck covered canteen. For early 1872 and 1874 canteens. Does NOT include cork assembly. Condition is New. Note: you may, depending on your canteen cork, need to slightly open the top chain link a bit with pliers to find your perfect fit. NOTE: this is the CORRECT spout ring to pair with my 1874 Type II canteen cover, available separately. This is also the ideal early ring for use with an 1858 conversion (1872) OR an 1874 Type I canteen.
