Description: IND24-2 Antique Deming Machinist Indicator c. 1918, Excellent Condition, w/Case Very Good condition, with no repair that I can see. Works properly. Normal wear and patina for something this old. Please note – Important! Due to a glitch in the eBay shipping system, I recently had a problem with a buyer who bought two separate items in rapid succession, used the “Shopping Cart” system, and combined the two sales into one order. Based on my shipping prefs, he should not have been able to do that, but the glitch allowed him to. It completely screwed up the shipping process, causing shipping delays and forced both of us to jump through hoops to straighten it out. On the outside chance you are buying more than one item from me, DO NOT USE THE SHOPPING CART SYSTEM. Complete the sales process fully by paying for the first item, BEFORE moving on to the second. It will make both our lives easier. (Especially mine) Thank you. In the coming weeks, I will be listing quite a few of my favorite antique indicators. Many of them are uncommon, in Good / Very Good condition, and work properly. If you save me as a seller, it will be easier to find them down the road. Or you can simply click the “Sellers Other Items” link at the top of this page to find the others. This is an antique machinist test indicator developed by Charles M. Deming of Hartford, Conn. around 1903. It’s rather small and fragile, so it’s nice when one survives in such good condition. With so many small pieces in the box, it’s also nice that they survived intact as well. It looks like the box originally had a nameplate attached, but it’s missing. Nonetheless, it measures 4” by 2” by 1”. It works properly and comes with everything you see. The indicator pointer moves freely without any binding. I tried to take a number of close up shots because it is so small, and some of the engraved text on the underside is really tiny. Actually, some of the close up shots were taken using my microscope. It was the only way I could show the incredible detail and workmanship. A rare and interesting indicator design, and a great addition to an antique tool collection. *** TERMS and CONDITIONS.
