Description: This is quite an interesting document of East German history: a brief history of the VEB Robotron - East Germany’s biggest electronics and computer manufacturer. It was written in 1978, in German, and discusses the history of the company from its predecessors’ early days after the war, 1946, through to 1977. As such it includes everything you’d expect from a book of this origin and time: the fight for the fulfillment of 5-year communist economic plan quotas and everything else around the organization. This could be great for any East German who worked for Robotron. Or for historians. Or for students of either history or German or of German history - or if economics who know German. This book reflects and conserves the unique world view of the DDR, it’s citizens (at least their officially presented outside) and it’s industrial policies. I bought this when working on a project in East Germany related to one of the precursor companies which were socialized and merged into Robotron (no - I was not working for the Treuhandanstalt). The book is in very used outside condition - slightly yellowing, and multiple dents and scratches to the outside and the dust jacket. Inside it is complete and in good condition. Please look through the pictures - wysiwyg!
