Description: Leonore Klein was an American writer of several published children's books and magazine stories, also a librarian in schools and colleges. She was born in 1916 and died in 2003. This is the story of a large family who live in a small house where there simply is not enough room for all. The father appeals to the mayor for help but the mayor advises the acquisition of a dog, a cat and a bird which makes everything even more crowded! However, the solution eventually works, after a fashion. The delightful bright illustrations are by Michael Foreman, a prolific artist in, and writer of, children's books. The story is in simple French and there are page by page translations at the end of the narrative. 46 pp ; 18.5 x 26 cm ; 267 g.
