When: Sunday, November. 3, 2024 Price: $199 per ticket (We have 9 tickets total) WHEN YOU ARRIVE:Your journey will begin in Penn Station's new Metropolitan Lounge in Moynihan Train Hall. Our train departs at 11:20am and boarding begins at approximately 10:45am. Plan to arrive at least an hour before departure (we recommend 10am). The lounge is on the second level, above the main concourse. There is a set of escalators near the entrance to tracks 5 and 6 that will take you there. View this map to find your way.At the entrance of the Metropolitan Lounge, you will check in with the Amtrak attendant. Let them know you are there for Hudson River Rail Excursions, and they will direct you to a Hudson River Rail staff member. For those riding in the Hickory Creek, this is when we will let you know in which of the two seatings your group will take part. Before your group heads downstairs to our train, you are welcome to relax and enjoy all the amenities offered in Amtrak's Metropolitan Lounge!HISTORY TOUR:On the first half of the trip, a National Park Service-trained guide from the Trails & Rails program will regale you with stories of the region's history. You are welcome to ask as many questions as you would like as you enjoy the scenery and the storytelling!LAYOVER IN ALBANY:When our train arrives in Albany, you will disembark while the train is turned around, and you have two hours to spend as you please. On past excursions, passengers have taken a short Uber ride across the river to see Albany's gorgeous Capitol Building, Modernist plaza, quaint downtown, or numerous museums and bars. Other passengers wait in the station. We do not control the speed at which the train returns to the station, but our aim is to have folks back on board as soon as we are able. If you choose to venture away from the station, we cannot stress enough that you budget enough time to return, as we are not able to delay the train.DRESS CODE:Recommended dress code is business casual and above. Rail passengers used to dress up to travel in 1948, and you can too! Period attire is not only allowed, it is encouraged. ALCOHOL POLICY:Hickory Creek passengers will have access to a selection of beer and wine through the trip. Passengers riding aboard Tavern-Lounge No. 43 are welcome to BYOB beer and wine. Our on-board staff is happy to chill your beverages for you. Hard liquor is prohibited on both cars. As per state law, Hudson River Rail staff reserves the right to cut off or eject passengers who are visibly intoxicated.
