Description: AN EARLY PIECE OF RARE GLASS IN THE CUCUMBER ON VINE PATTERN. SHOWN IN BICKS PICKLES CANADIANA CRUET COLLECTION AS THE NUMBER ONE JAR - OF COURSE. Made by Richards & Hartley Glass Previously I had tried to identify this piece and it was an appraiser of high end antiques and a dear friend that sent me the booklet with a note on the history solving some of the mystery. Silver frame is not original to jar but funny enough it does match up with the ball finial on the lid and in the lattice work. Fits snugly too not loose. A wonderful rare piece for any collection. Will include photocopy of Bick's booklet with images of all known Glass pickle jars. Listed as a piece of Canadiana glass so possibly made on both sides of the border in a shared mold. All silver needs more polishing. Necklaces sold as OOAK designs were made by my friend who uses beads from broken pieces, art beads from her crafting store or beads I acquired from other estates. * Any bidders from China must have a USA forwarding address on completion.
