This is but another version, except that the disc companion is a quirky and alchemic Arcana (1927) of Varése. It is a peculiar lead-in to The Planets, mostly because of its atonal statements. But Varése and Holst were near-contemporaries, and these works almost parallel one another. One is atonal and abrasive; the other is colorful and dynamic.
