Description: Florida Highwaymen R.A. "Roy" McLendon. Mr. McLendon is one of the original five Highwaymen along with Harold Newton, Alfred Hair, Livingston Roberts and James Gibson. Mr. McLendon, was the second Highwaymen to begin painting in the Highwaymen style. He lived in the same Gifford neighborhood as Harold Newton. Mr. McLendon passed away earlier this year. Painted on coveted Upson board with the original crown molding frame. This painting contains Mr. McLendon's signature sailboat in the distance sailing on the river during a full moonlit night. Spectacular clouds and palm tree adorn the painting. The gentle breeze is moving the palm fronds and spanish moss in the tree. The Upson board is 24 by 36 inches. Overall 27.5" by 39.5". Ready to hang. This painting has been professionally cleaned and sealed to protect it for years to come. Local pick-up an option. I also make frequent trips to Vero Beach. Delivery may be arranged.
