Description: Item Description:This auction is for one bare PCB for a 4:1 remote antenna switch. There is no manual provided, all information needed for assembly is in the listing. This board has 0.625 inch diameter holes for the rear of the SO-239 body to pass through. Check your SO-239 dimensions prior to purchase. The first two pictures show the front of the board and the connector layout. The last two pictures are the front and back of an assembled board (not included). The assembled board has 24V relays vs the 12V relays listed in the BOM. The boards are double sided plated through PCBs with and silkscreen and solder mask for easy assembly. Board finish is Lead Free HSAL. Unlike other similar boards, this board has PTH pads for the SO-239 connections. It is not reliant on solder alone to maintain connection. The board size is 4.35" by 3.05". This board does not need to use standoffs although the KEYSTONE 2260-2, 0.125 height, swaged standoff will help avoid fumbling around with nuts during assembly and installation. RF data: Loss at 30MHz <0.05dBm SWR: <1.07 to 1 at 30MHz Isolation from radio port to antenna when OFF at 30MHz >70dB All numbers improve as frequency is lowered.Deselected antennas are grounded to the plane on the board. A 1.5 meg ohm resistor bleeds static from the selected antenna so high voltage static charges do not build up.Provision for two 20KW gas discharge tubes. All part leads must be trimmed below the height of the SO-239 mounting surface or there will be shorts to the metal enclosure. A plastic enclosure is not recommended. This board will work with SO-239 connectors and with type N connectors that can be found in volume on EBAY from US sellers. It should also work with the Chinese SO-239s. The assembled board uses connectors found here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/302225644500. The connectors are arranged on the board with enough space for ease of attaching the cables. This also keeps the traces to the relays short as they are mounted between the connectors. Note, some connectors have a larger rear body than the hole (0.625") in the board and will not work without standoffs. If the swaged standoffs are used, they should be soldered to the board. The standoffs can also be soldered without swaging, but be careful to keep them flush with and perpendicular to the board. Load the 4 corners first then do the rest. Use a soldering iron with a large tip and be patient, there is a lot of ground plane to heat up. The relays used are DPDT 400V 8A with the contacts wired in parallel (16A) and should have adequate with margin for most modern transceivers. Note: 1KW is only 223Vrms at 4.5A into 50 ohms but a high SWR can increase voltage levels. The deselected antennas are connected to ground. If none of the antennas are selected, all are connected to ground. The relay control lines are connected through two screw terminal blocks for easy connection and removal of the wires. Two connectors are used to keep the wiring for the relays as short as possible. A five wire cable is needed, four control wires for the relays (+12V) and a common (RTN) return wire connected to both J6 and J7. The control wire RTN is not connected to the RF ground on the board. R1 through R4 are in series with the relay coils. They can be replaced by any resistor from 1 to 22 ohms or a with a wire jumper as seen in the pictures. The wires connecting the SO-239 connector center terminals to the board can be 22ga to 20ga. Same for the coils connecting the center SO-239 center terminal. The coils are about 1/2 inch diameter. The board will work without the coils but will have a slightly higher SWR at high frequency. Solder the wires to the board (and cut flush) first then connect to the SO-239s during final assembly to the enclosure. The box is available in other configurations (mounting flange, color). As with anything connected to an antenna, all of the metal parts should be well grounded. A ground rod must be connected to the antenna relay box as close as possible to the box. This board does not provide protection from direct lightning strikes, no system with relays can do that. The coax and control lines should be disconnected when not in use as with any antenna.. PayPal Confirmed Address: PayPal address must be confirmed and must be the same as the shipping address.
