Description: Harper's Monthly Magazine bound in 2 volume book form: Volume V, June to November, 1852 & Volume VI. December 1852- May 1853. Both volumes feature monthly installments of Charles Dickens’ Bleak House and volume VI page 400-414 has Dickens’ Christmas Stories. There are monthly Illustrations of Fashions, the story of Napoleon Bonaparte, by John SC Abbott, ‘Comicalities’ Current Events such as the death of Daniel Webster and the election of Gen. Pierce as president, and SO MUCH MORE! There is an embossed seal in the cover of both volumes, see photo, that reads ‘J.C. Sprague, Bookseller & Stationer No. 7 Eagle Block, Ogdensburgh NY’. Fun fact, Ogdensburg was chartered in 1868 minus the ‘H’ at the end that appears in the embossed seal. The condition, not surprisingly, is well worn but very readable. Volume V has a detached binding, loose pages in the back, foxing and stains. Volume VI has a separated binding front and back and the same as volume V as far as stains and foxing, only less of it.
