Description: First UK Edition; A Very Good book in a Very Good dust jacket. A handsome copy of this delightful epistolary novel, a correspondence between the author and a London bookshop; somewhat scarce in the first UK edition. This copy is in very good condition with a square, tight binding, dark blue lettering over clean red boards, and clean pages throughout with just a hint of foxing to the edges; the book also shows some rubbing at the ends and edges, some light spotting to the exterior text block, and a previous owner's name to the front free paper. Housed in a clean and bright very good or better dust jacket that shows some mild rubbing and chipping to the spine ends and corners, a couple of tiny tears to the top edges of the panels including one approximately 3/4" tear to the back panel along the spine fold, and some age-toning to the top edges. Overall, a collectible and presentable copy of this book; not price clipped, not remaindered, and not ex-library; in a protective Mylar cover and will ship in a sturdy box.
