Description: This mug was hand-thrown on a potter's wheel, made from sturdy stoneware clay. It can be used for hot or cold beverages. It is microwave safe. Soft clay was pressed into a custom skeleton mold to create a medallion. This medallion was adhered to the body of the mug when the clay was damp. When the mug was dipped into the Mirror Black glaze, the raised area of the skeleton was carefully wiped of excess glaze so details of the skeleton would show through after the glaze firing. It is stamped with the name of the studio (Cady Clay Works) and the personal stamp of the potter who created it (Johannes Mellage). Every handmade piece of pottery is one-of-a-kind. This mug was created in a pottery studio in central North Carolina. It is new old stock that was just discovered when unpacking after a Covid-delayed move.
