Hand Painted Swallowtail Wood Cut-Out With Yellow Flowers By Phyllis

Description: You are buying a new never displayed hand painted swallowtail butterfly for the wood cut-out, with painted yellow flowers on a vine with leaves. There's also a painted small swallowtail on the top. The main wood is basswood and it is 11" in height x 8 1/4" wide and is 1/2" thick. The butterfly, I cut out on my bandsaw, then painted it and is glued on from the front and screwed on from the back-see other pictures and is made out of 1/2" (actual 7/16") aspen wood. I also drilled a small hole on the top of the butterfly and put two wires in it for the antennas-so it sticks out. Looks like a 3D picture. The basswood is bought from a hobby store. The aspen wood is bought from and general store that carries wood. You can see I have put a hanger on the back for easy hanging. I painted this with acrylic paints with a coat of polycrylic on it.
