Description: Just stop for a moment and appreciate this craftsmanship. This is a single piece of wood (unknown species) that was hand carved in the Dominican Republic and purchased while there in 2004. I fell in love with the details of this piece. Her braid work is amazing! I love the light and dark contrast as well. There is a natural imperfection in this piece that can be seen on the woman's left side, in front of her braid. However, the piece is still completely solid and nothing is loose. A true piece of artwork and a one of a kind piece!
