There is some cracking in the brass strips and one whole side of the beads are discolored from being displayed against the wall. Please look carefully at ALL PHOTOS! Below is a description from value my stuff- DESCRIPTIONThe end of the stem - the mouthpiece- is plain - undecorated. The part of the stem has a short wooden piece which is inserted into the end of the bowl. Some of the black paint has worn off. The majority of the stem has lattice-work twine on which are threaded discolored white, turquoise, black and opaque rust colored seed beads; the twine is wound around the stem. There are many beads missing. The bowl: there are fluted strips of brass attached to the bowl in circles, straight lines, curved lines, and geometric shapes. In the center of the circles are round cabochon, glass beads in a red color. There are two cabochon red glass beads on the sides of the end of the bowl. The bowl of the pipe is a fish head - the eyes and mouth are evident; the brass inlays are meant to be fish scales; the flared wooden piece of the bowl is the body of the fish. The long pipe is an effigy pipe and is African. Except for the bead work, the pipe bowl and stem are in good condition; the two pieces are wood. Measures approx 27 inches long.
