Description: weight: 3 lbs. 15.5 oz.overall size: 16.5” long, 7.5” tall, 8.5” deeponly the bull: 15” longonly the base: 14.25” x 8” This bull is quite rare. I looked up plenty of listings of both signatures, and was unable to find any other bull sculptures out there. It looks like there were mostly elephants made in similar fashion. The artist is Silvio Righetto, and it was made by the Guido Cacciapuoti pottery studio. The studio’s label is on the bottom, although part of it is missing, likely from a removed price tag. The main flaw is a 1.5” crack on the front of the base, which is shown from the top and bottom in the last two pictures. The edge of the crack also has a tiny chip. There is another tiny chip at the end of a horn. The sculpture was painted after being fired, and has worn off in many areas, especially the horns and feet. There are a bunch of tiny chips around the signatures, as they were incised into the ceramic while still wet and created rough edges. If I pick it up, I can hear a few tiny chips of ceramic rattling around inside the bull.
