Group of 3/6/12 Black Venezuelan Corydoras (Schultzei) Catfish Live Fish

Description: This is a listing for a group of either 3, 6, or 12 Black Venezuelan Corydoras (Corydoras Schultzei)! Corydoras are an aquarium staple known for being a hardy and very peaceful (albeit adorably clumsy) schooling fish that come in just about every pattern imaginable. The Black Venezuelans are my personal favorite, as their full dark armor is something that sets them apart from just about every other species/color morph! Corys make great fish for beginners or experienced fishkeepers and collectors alike! They are relatively easy to breed and after a routine water change you'll probably see some eggs scattered about on the glass! Corys are relatively adaptive when it comes to parameters, especially an easier species such as this one. They require a typical tropical setup with a recommended ph of slightly acidic water somewhere around 6-7.5, and a temp of 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit. I personally have raised mine at a ph of 7.6 and a temp of 78 degrees so they are likely to do best in similar parameters, but can absolutely adapt to others as long as it isn't too far out of their range! They are a very peaceful species and leave almost all other tankmates completely alone. Dwarf shrimp are the only iffy species for them in my mind, though they don't actively hunt them, rather if they happen to bump into one they'll definitely chow down on it. They thrive and are happiest when in a group of their own kind, and more specifically own species. A recommended minimum of 6 for a healthy school is typical. This is a slightly larger-growing species of Cory with the males topping out at about 2 inches but the females growing much larger to 3 and sometimes 4 inches in length. Therefore a 20 long for a small school is the recommended minimum, with of course more room always being better! These particular fish will either be around 1 inch juveniles, or around 2 inch young adults, unsexed but most likely to receive both genders. Females of this species, as they grow larger/age do lose some of their dark color especially on their stomachs, so they end up being a more dark brown than black when fully grown unfortunately, but the males stay much darker their entire lives. They take all kinds of food, pellets, flakes, frozen, and live and have been raised on all of the above! All have been home-bred and raised!
