Description: This is a rare single page advertising handbill (flyer) promoting the Original West End production of the CY COLEMAN, DOROTHY FIELDS and NEIL SIMON musical comedy "SWEET CHARITY" at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London. (The Original Broadway production opened January 29th, 1966 at the newly refurbished Palace Theatre in New York City and ran for 608 performance. The London production opened October 11th, 1967 and ran for more than a year, closing November 30th, 1968.) ..... The musical starred GRETCHEN WYLER (who replaced JULIET PROWSE on April 27th, 1968) and featured PAUL KELLY, JOSEPHINE BLAKE, LAURIE WEBB, JOHN KESTON, NORMA WEST, ROD McLELLAN, SHEILA O'NEILL and FRED EVANS ..... Side note: On Monday, May 27th 1968, GRETCHEN WYLER was admitted to the hospital for an appendicitis operation.
