Description: Early Antique WWI Photo Album, 130 Photos!!! DESCRIPTION: Scans will provide an idea of content. Please forgive some of my photos as they are a bit out of focus, as they are actually much sharper. This is a WONDERFUL example of a loaded military photo album/scrapbook, loaded with a variety of photos. Clearly a WWI album based on uniforms and subject matter.. Also, appears to be THE ALBUM OF AN ACTUAL WWI VETERAN SINCE PHOTOS INCLUDE "LEAVING FOR HOME FROM BREST", A COUPLE OF POST CARDS OF TROOP SHIPS, AND TROOP RAILROAD CARS, ETC. Album contains 130 items, mostly photos, covering a variety of military camp life, soldier pictures in uniform, getting chow, camp scenes, riding cows, etc., etc. Most in uniform, many doing drills, etc., PICS FROM THE RIFLE RANGE , AND SOLDIERLY GOOFING AROUND OR RELAXING, ETC. Also contains a GREAT series of period photo postcards with typed info/titles, such as Verdun lines, Remains of the Hindenburg Line, Bombed out ruins, and a number of very nice and UNUSUAL BATTLE AREA AND TOWN PHOTOS TAKEN FROM AN AIRPLANE. A couple are dated 1918-1919. Also includes equipment, such as a 155mm gun and other vehicles and equipment. Also in the album is a period dried Easter lily. Not sure if the album was a convenient flat place to dry/store the flower or if there was a relationship to the album, e.g. a flower from a funeral or ??? This is an early album, so missing the hard covers. It consists of 23 large black paper pages (12" x 9 3/4"), with photos on both sides, so roughly 46 pages of photos, for a total of 130 photos/cards. A great deal of attention paid to putting this together, and it obviously meant a great deal to the owner and reflected so much from an important part of his life. A variety of photo sizes, mostly 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" and `3 1/4" x 4 1/2". This came with the Bangor, Maine album I have on ebay, so possibly from the same family. You will like this album. It has some of the nicest and most unusual photos/subject photos I have seen in any antique military photo album. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS!!! SHIPPING TERMS: Buyer pays $16.00 shipping.
