Description: 1820 LX Great Britain crown. The obverse shows a laureate head of George III, facing right, with the legend "GEORGIUS III D:G: BRITANNARIUM REX F:D:", below is Pistrucci, designer. The reverse shows St. George, patron saint of England, on horseback, slaying the dragon. Below the ground line is Pistrucci. The design is surrounded by a Garter, with the motto of the chivalric "Order of the Garter", inside . "HONI-SOIT-QUI-MAL-Y-PENSE". The regnal year of George's reign is in raised edge lettering "DECUS ET TUTAMEN, ANNO REGNI LX". On the cheek of George is one mark from ear to mouth, two marks from the jaw line down toward the 5:00 o'clock position, one from the bottom of the ribbon to the "O" in "George", two marks to the right of the "1" in the date. There are some other lighter scratches across the neck. The rest of the surfaces show the typical marks accumulated from circulation. The reverse shows the typical marks from circulation. The portrait still shows hair and wreath detail, and profile detail on the face. The reverse shows good detail on the horse and dragon, and St. George. A few light scratches are visible down the neck of the horse.
