The Queen Victoria issues of Great Britain span the years 1840-1900 and starts with the world's first postage stamp, the famous 'penny black' of 1840. This beginning era of postage stamps is a source of study due to the vast production varieties developed during these 60 years -- differences in paper, watermarks, perforations, plate numbers, and, cancellations. As can be expected, some of the world's most rare and valuable specimens are included in this era. Kindly see the photo to view this stamp.
