Almost all 1959 models have been produced with a figured top since 1993, when the Historic Collection was officially released. The aged model by Tom Murphy was officially released in 1999, so this Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Plain Top Aged Washed Cherry was made the following year in 2000 and can be considered one of the earliest models. In 1999, the Historic Collection was changed to include the aged model, and this 2000 model also uses the 1999 model. The overall shape, especially the headstock and body arch, was refined, the neck set position, and the sunburst color were refined, and a Nitrocellulose Thin Finish was used. This model uses Hard Maple for the body top, Mahogany for the body back and neck, and Rosewood for the fingerboard. The pickup is equipped with a genuine Gibson P.A.F. Type Humbucker. The tailpiece is made of specially machined aluminum and comes with an original tailpiece. This guitar is aged and has a realistic vintage feel due to the aging process over the past 20 years. There is almost no sign of use. The nut, frets, and neck are in good condition, and the truss rod has plenty of room for both forward and backward bending.
