Description: Geschutz Art Nouveau Inkwell Double Inkstand Victorian 1890s Antique (O) AS IS Unknown Maker - Through research, I have found that items stamped with the "Geschutz" name were made in Austria - However, I have not confirmed this Late Victorian Era - Circa 1890-1900 Features a sloped area in the front to serve as a pen tray. The two inkwells each have lids that raise up on a hinge There are two pointed feet on the bottom. The underside of the tray is stamped "Geschutz" Each glass inkwell consists of 2 pieces - A small bottle, and a detached lid with an inverted cone which fits down into the cylindrical bottle The pen tray and lids to the inkwells are decorated with geometric designs, mainly scrolls and orbs 3" Tall x 7 1/4" Long x 5 1/8" Wide x 5/8" Diameter of Ink Well Openings Used - AS IS CONDITION Some scratches and scuffs from age and handling There is a lot of tarnish on the metal - This needs to be polished - There are also a lot of tiny spots of rust The lids of both inkwells do not open up straight up - Rather, then open into one another, bumping each other - The metal housings of the inkwells need some slight alignment adjustment There is a lot of rust and tarnish on the underside of the metal lids, and on the insides of the metal housing of the inkwells There are numerous tiny chips/flea bites around the edges of the glass inkwells Thank you!
