Here's a quick breakdown:In the Ride Zone, when you hit a bump, fluid is allowed to bypass the damping piston through bypass ports; fluid is then pulled back into the shock body through open refill holes—this allows the fluid to bypass the piston freely to provide a plush, comfortable ride.In the Bump Zone, when you hit a big bump, the shock compresses and the piston moves past the bypass port. The fluid is then restricted to flowing through the compression valving at full force, creating firmness and preventing bottoming.When transitioning from compression to rebound, the piston is momentarily held at the top of the stroke, which helps prevent bucking.During Rebound, fluid is then allowed to bypass the piston via various openings.As the piston travels past the refill holes into the Catch Zone, the fluid is forced to flow through the piston's rebound valving at full force, which creates a firmness that prevents a harsh top-out load. They remain in excellent condition as they were removed with under 4.5K miles and replaced with a complete set of Kings Suspension shocks. They show some signs of normal wear from being uninstalled and in storage. There are no leaks and all the bushings are intact and in excellent condition as pictured. There are minor cosmetic issues with the decals and you can apply new ones if needed. This occurred from the tech who did the install from 4 Wheel Parts, he wasn't quite careful during the process unfortunately. However these shocks are 100% ready to be bolted on for immediate use and will last for many adventures to come. You can also have these beautiful shocks rebuilt & serviced in the future to come.
