NRFB Gene Moments to Remember was an extremely limited edition Gene doll, limited to only 250 pieces, for the Modern Doll Collector's Convention. She celebrated the 5th Anniversary of the Gene doll in 2000. She is rare and very hard to find, especially in brand new condition, never removed from the original box. This Gene has beautiful brunette hair in a wavy style and wears a gorgeous silk navy blue evening dress with elaborate bow detail with sequins, and matching strappy open toe shoes. Also included is a matching sik navy evening purse, a netted navy shawl, a "pearl" and white flower head decoration, drop "pearl" earrings, a "pearl" necklace, long white evening gloves and a little set of doll sized paper dolls! Created by Mel Odom, the costume is designed by Dolly Cipolla.Comes to you with some extras from the convention--a professional photo of the doll and a letter from Joan Greene, the director of the Gene Team, to the convention attendees. Also has the original stand still in the box. All Gene dolls are 16" tall and they have many separately available fashion outfits and patterns for sewing.The story for this Gene is as follows: Gene had collected dolls from as far back as she could remember. They played all the other parts when she was alone in her room recreating her favorite movies. They came to her as gifts for birthdays and holidays. As souvenirs from her parents' world-traveling acquaintances. As the things she saved her allowance for. And remember, when she said goodbye to New York for Hollywood, the gift her father brought her was her favorite teddy bear—to remind her of her family's love. Doll collecting was a part of Gene's grown-up life, too.
