Description: You get the exact one shown here: #11,333-S1 / 02-04-2024 Please see VIDEO & all 22 photos (be sure to scroll to see all of them). GARNET CRYSTAL on matrix. An exciting new find from the Tucson show. This is from Diakon, Keyes Region, MALI. This is a grossular-andradite garnet that is a dark greenish-yellow. This has a particularly fine gemmy garnet crystal on matrix. This also has several other places with lessor-quality garnets on it. The photos didn't turn out well for this crystal because it was raining outside and I had to use my cell phone to take photos indoors. It is nicer than the photos suggest and the video will give you a better idea of how this looks. In bright sunlight or other bright lighting you can see the color better and you can see down into the crystal. This one is of a very high quality relative to the location. It might be a good idea to trim most of the matrix off since the other garnets on it are not as good as the main large one. This is a higher quality than normally encountered from Mali. This gemmy crystal has bright faces, good edges, and a minimum of chips or dings. This also has a more pleasing color than usual. This particular specimen is exceptional, especially as to how gemmy the main garnet crystal is. See my other listings (which I am working on and will be adding more) for other sizes of these green garnets from Mali, as well as other types of garnets from the USA and worldwide localities!Approximate size of crystal specimen: 3" wide X 2 1/4" deep X 2 3/4" tall or in metric: 7.8 X 5.5 X 7.0 CM. The main garnet is 3/4" x 3/4" or 1.8 x 1.8 CM.This weighs 2.05 ounces or 58 grams when weighed on a precision gram scale. This is shown with enlarged images so please note: This is shown with large high-resolution images. The photos show the specimen as if you were examining it with a magnifying glass. Every good detail, and every bad detail, is shown in a blaze of glory or shame as the case may be. Having said that, since the photos are highly enlarged you may see features or blemishes that will not be detectable or will not be as prominent to the naked eye. Please note the size and be advised that the images appear larger than life on your screen. To be clear: this is shown with extreme magnification. To put it another way, (as if that wasn't clear enough?) these are large pictures of a small crystal. This specimen is priced commensurate with its rarity, locality and quality. I can't take less for it so please don't ask. I do have minerals for every budget so be sure to check out my other items. B.O.L.O ALERT - Be On the Look Out: I have lots of other brookite crystals for sale. I have some currently listed and I'm in the process of listing more - check back if brookite crystals are your thing. I've recently acquired in excess of 1200 perky box specimens which have been carefully curated over a span of 42 years. The quality ranges from high to extremely high. Despite the sensory overload that oft accompanies high quality minerals, some will be quite affordable. The easiest way to see them is to visit my store and click the store category "PERKY BOXES". You will probably want to add me as a favorite seller and tick the box to receive a weekly view of recently added minerals. I took some time off from listing but I'm back at it for a while and will probably be adding more specimens. So do check back and add me as a favorite and subscribe to my newsletter. Don't worry, you won't get weekly or even monthly emails from me as I only sporadically send them out a few times a year.
