LOOK AT THE PUMP HANDEL! IT SHOWS RIGHT ON IT! IT WILL TELL YOU IF IT IS E-10, E-15, E-30 OR E-85. IS JUST WHAT IT MEANS! E-85 IS 85% ETHANOL!!!!YOUR FUEL PUMP WONT LAST BUT A COUPLE OF MONTHS AT MOST IF YOU PUT THAT E-85 IN IT. NUMBER 2.WATCH OUT FOR THE CHINA LOOK-A-LIKE FUEL PUMPS!LOOK CLOSELY AT THE PHOTOS OF THIS LISTING!THAT FAKE FUEL PUMP YOU SEE IN THE LAST FEW PHOTOS WAS FROM SOMEONE WHO BOUGHT/MADE A PRIOR PURCHASE ELSWHERE AND THEN FOUND IT TO NOT WORK.THEY THEN MADE A PURCHASE FROM US AND TRIED TO DO A RETURN OF THE FAKE ONE TO US TO GET THE LARGER REFUND. LITTLE DID THEY KNOW THAT TO THE TRAINED EYE THERE IS A DIFFERENCE FROM THE OE ONE AND THE FAKE ONES. SOME PARTS WE CANNOT SHOW BECAUSE THEY WILL ONLY THEN MAKE THAT LITTLE CORRECTION TO WHERE IT WILLMAKE IT EVEN MORE DIFFICULT FOR US TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE FROM THE OE ONE TO THE FAKE ONE WITHOUT HAVING TO TAKE IT APART TO SEE IF IT WAS ALTERED/ROBBED OF PARTS!AS FOR THEM, THEY WERE REPORTED, THERE WAS NO REFUND GIVEN AND THEY WERE THEN BLOCKED FROM EVER TRYING TO MAKE ANY FUTURE PURCHASES FROM US AGAIN!THERE ARE FUEL PUMPS OUT THERE THAT LOOK ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE OE ONE YOU SEE HERE FOR YOUR ENGINE.THEM DEFECTIVE FAKES WILL NOT WORK RIGHT AND WE SERIOUSLY MEAN THAT MOST DO NOT EVEN WORK AT ALL!!! LOOK AT THE PHOTOS TO SEE WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT. THAT IS JUST ONE OF THE THINGS WRONG WITH THEIR INTERNAL COMPONETS.1. THE DIAPHRAGM IS MADE OF SOME WEIRD THIN RUBBER LAYER OVER BOTH SIDES OF WHAT LOOKS TO BE LIKE A WIRE MESH SCREEN! VERY ODD WE THOUGHT! WE PEALED IT BACK TO SEE WHY IT WOULD NOT STRETCH! IT LOOKS LIKE A THIN NYLON WIRE MESH SCREEN THAT HAS A THIN LAYER OF RUBBER SPRAYED OUT OVER BOTH SIDES OF THE MESH!!!IT HAS NO GIVE TO IT LIKE A RUBBER DIAPHRAGM SHOULD HAVE. THE DIAPHRAGM IS NOT MADE OF A THICK CUPPED RUBBER. THE DIAPRAGM IS ALSO TOO SMALL AROUND WHERE IT DOES NOT WANT TO SIT INTO THE RESSESED AREA WHERE IT IS SUPOSED TO. IF IT IS TOO TIGHT THEN HOW IS IT (THE DIAPHRAGM) SUPOSSED TOFLUCTUATE BACK AND FORTH TO PUMP THE FUEL! WE CANNOT SEE WHERE IT CAN!I MEAN......., MAYBEY LITTLE TINY MOVEMENTS BUT NOW YOUR TALKING ABOUT A LOT OF WEAR AND TEAR ON THE STARTER MOTOR WITH ALL THE CRANKING!NOT TO MENTION WEARING OUT THE LIFE OF THE BATTERY!!!!!!!2. EVEN THE BRASS BREATHER VENT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE IT ALLOWS ACTUAL AIR TO PASS BACK AND FORTH THROUGH IT! THIS IS A MUST FOR THE DIAPHRAGM TO BE ABLE TO MAKE THE MOVEMENT THAT IT NEEDS TO PUMP THE FUEL. 3. EVEN THE VALVES IN THEIR PUMP ARE MADE OF PLASTIC AND NOT RUBBER! HOW IS THIN PLASTIC SUPOSSED TO SEAL UP AGAINST PLASTIC? IT WONT! THIS WILL CAUSE THE FUEL TO SEEP BACK TOWARDS THE FUEL TANK. SPECIALLY IF THE FUEL TANK IS LOCATED AT A LOWER LEVEL THAN THAT OF THE ENGINE LIKE UNDER THE SEAT OF A TRACTOR. BASICALLY, EVERY TIME YOU SHUT YOUR ENGINE DOWN, YOU WILL HAVE TO ALMOST CHOKE THE CARBURETOR TO GET THE ENGINE TO FIRE BACK UP!4. EVEN THE SPRING THEY USED TO PUSH THE DIAPHRAGM BACK IS MADE TOO STIFF SO THAT IT WILL NOT ALLOW THE ENGINES PISTON TO MAKE THE MOVEMENT OF WHAT THE DIAPHRAGM NEEDS TO PUMP THE FUEL!!!IT IS AS IF THEY HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHAT THE PURPOSE IS OF THIS UNIT OR DO THEY?OH! BUT NOW WAIT! THERE IS A THOUGHT!!!MAYBE THEY ARE MADE THIS WAY ON PURPOSE TO MAKE OTHER COMPONETS / PARTS TO FAIL QUICKLY! LIKE THE STARTER MOTOR TO WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME FROM BEING OVER WORKED!!!ALSO SHORTENING THE LIFE OF THE BATTERY AS WELL!MAYBE TO GET US ALL TO BUY THEIR CHEAPER JUNK STARTER MOTOR THAT HAS THE WEAK SPRINGS IN IT WITH THE SHALLOW BRUSHES THAT WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED SHORTLY AFTER THE WARRENTY RUNS OUT?PRETTY SMART IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT! MAYBE IT IS ALL BEING DONE ON PURPOSE SO THAT THEY CAN CONTINUE TO STAY IN YOUR WALLET!!!!!! NOT TO MENTION TAKING UP ALL YOUR FREE TIME WORKING ON THE SAME THING YEAR AFTER YEAR!!!!MAYBE THEY ARE SMARTER THAN WE ALL GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR!ONLY IF WE ALLOW IT!!!AS FOR THE OE FUEL PUMP....THAT YOU SEE HERE IN THE FIRST FEW PHOTOS IS THE POLY RESIN FIBER COMPOSITE (NOT CHEAP PLASTIC) FUEL PUMP WITH A THICKER (NOT THIN) PIT LINER RUBBER DIAPHRAGM THAT IS SERVICEABLE. MADE TO WHERE YOU CAN CAREFULLY TAKE IT APART TO CLEAN IT IF NEEDED. THIS ALSO COMES WITH TINY RUBBER CAPS COVERING THE INLET, OUTLET AND VACUUM PORTS TO KEEP INSECTS FROM GETTING INSIDE AND RUINING THE DIAPHRAGM DURING STORAGE. THAT IS JUST ANOTHER PREVENTATIVE MEASURE TAKEN SO THAT OUR CUSTOMERS KNOW THAT THEY WILL RECEIVE A WORRY-FREE OE FUEL PUMP STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. THE BOTTOM LINE IS.....HAS CHINA MADE ANYTHING AT ALL TO LAST OR TO BENIFIT ANY OF US HERE IN THE USA? MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF FUEL IN YOUR GAS TANK THAT YOUR ENGINE IS ATTACHED TO, NOW PULL THE FUEL LINE FROM THE FUEL PUMP AND PUT IT INTO A CLEAR QUART JAR AND LOWER IT TO THE GROUND. NOW TURN ON YOUR SHUT OFF VALVE, IF YOU HAVE NO FREE-FLOW OF FUEL THEN IT IS SAFE TO SAY THAT THERE IS SOMETHING IN THE GAS TANK LIKE GRASS, LEAVES OR DEBRIS STOPING THE FUEL FLO. THIS SHOULD GIVE YOU AN INDICATION THAT YOU MAY NOT NEED A FUEL PUMP. NOW IF YOU LOOSEN YOUR GAS TANKS FUEL CAP JUST A LITTLE AND BLOW SOME AIR INTO THE FUEL LINE GOING BACK TO THE FUEL TANK AND THEN PUT THE HOSE BACK INTO THE QUART JAR AND LOWER IT TO THE GROUND AGAIN AND YOU NOW HAVE FUEL FLOW THEN YOU KNOW THAT YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE FUEL TANK TO CLEAN IT OUT. WHY? BECAUSE WHATEVER IT WAS IS GOING TO FLOAT BACK INTO THE WAY AGAIN IF YOU DONT CLEAN IT OUT. LET'S SAY YOU HAD FUEL FLOW AFTER LOWERING THE LINE TO THE GROUND IN THE FIRST PLACE. THEN YOU NEED TO BLOW THROUGH THE FUEL PUMP ON THE INLET PORT. IF YOU CAN'T BLOW THROUGH IT THEN REMOVE THE LINE FROM THE FUEL PUMP THAT GOES DIRECTLY TO THE CARBURETOR. NOW TRY TO BLOW THROUGH THAT HOSE GOING IN TO THE CARBURETOR. IF YOU STILL CAN'T, THEN YOU KNOW THAT THERE IS SOMETHING PLUGGED IN THE NEEDLE SEAT THAT IS INSIDE OF THE CARBURETOR. SOMETHING IS STOPPING THAT FLOW. REMOVE THE CARBURETOR AND TAKE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL TO HAVE IT SERVICED. IF YOU ARE A CERTIFIED MECHANIC THEN TAKE THE CARBURETOR APART YOURSELF AND REMOVE THE FLOAT BOWL AND NEEDLE FROM THE NEEDLE SEAT. NOW ATTACH AN AIR HOSE TO THE NEEDLE SEAT WHERE YOU PULLED THE NEEDLE OUT OF AND BLOW BACK THROUGH IT WITH AN AIR HOSE. IT SHOULD HAVE NOW BLOWN OUT WHATEVER IT WAS THAT PLUGGED IT UP. NOW REASSEMBLE THE CARBURETOR IN THE SAME MANNER IT WAS TAKEN APART AND TRY TO BLOW BACK INTO THE CARBURETOR FROM THE INLET PORT GOING IN TO THE CARBURETOR. YOUR PROBLEM SHOULD NOW BE SOLVED. NOW WHAT YOU NEED TO DO FROM YOUR FUEL TANK TO YOUR ENGINES CARBURETOR IS MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS ASSEMBELED IN THIS ORDER...CLEAR FUEL LINE FROM GAS TANK PORT-to-FUEL SHUT OFF VALVE-to-FUEL FILTER-to-CLEAR FUEL LINE-to-FUEL PUMP-to-CLEAR FUEL LINE-to-CARBURETOR.
