These mugs are from the 1970s and are a Republican elephant, labeled "1971" on one side and "GOP" on the other. The exterior is a black glaze while the interior is a white glaze. Labeled on the bottom: "Frankoma, U.S. PAT. D215-868". Frankoma Pottery traditionally is an Oklahoma USA pottery company that began making Political Mugs in 1968 from local clays.
