DESIGNER/COMPANY/COUNTRY: FORSTNER (1922-1980): This classic American jewelry firm was founded in 1922 in Irvington, New Jersey as The Forstner Chain Company, but in 1950, the company was re-named Forstner Jewelry Manufacturing Corporation. Forstner produced sterling, gold filled, vermeil, and karat gold jewelry and accessories such as watch fobs and keychains. Their designs were simple and elegant, and quite well made. They did not use gemstones or enamel ornamentation, focusing instead on classic designs in the two precious metals and flexible, spiral Snake bracelets were a company specialty. Initially, their logo used Block lettering, but changed to Script in 1937. In 1980, the corporation ceased operations, making all Forstner jewelry rare and highly desirable for collectors. METAL: Sterling Silver DETAILS: NOTE: What may appear as damage is actually natural Patina. This was kept polished for quite awhile, but patina is once again forming and shows as black or brown splotchy areas which may be polished away once more if desired. ~ 1922-1937 Art Deco Era Flexible Snake Coil/Wrap Bracelet ~ Flourish Design focal point ~ Stamped Forstner (in block letters) + Sterling *This mark was only used from 1922 to 1936. Afterwards, it changed to Forstner with script lettering.~ Since the band is a flexible snake, it will fit a number of wrist sizes. It is at a size 6 now, but easily stretches to a 7.5 on my bracelet wand. CONDITION: Excellent Antique condition with very minor wear. As mentioned in the above note, Patina is naturally present.
