This new version is softer and is water-resistant, for a decreased risk of maceration when compared to waterproof. · Five (5) Foam With Adhesive Borders Wound Dressing (6.5" x 6.5") per box. Central foam pad is 4.1" x 4.1" and can absorb about 50-60 ml of wound exudate (more than average). Thickness of foam pad is 5 mm.· The dressing is self-adherent (due to the adhesive layer) and requires no other secondary dressing in most of the cases.· Foam Dressing with Adhesive Border may help to minimize pain and trauma during dressing changes.· The dressing can provide further protection from bacterial, dust and liquid contamination of wound. As far as liquid is concerned, the backing of this dressing causes delay in fluid crossing the dressing from one surface to other. The backing of this dressing causes less maceration compared to dressings with waterproof backing. Read further details in "Product Description" section. There is no silicone used in this dressing. This is dressing is different from silicone foam dressing. Areza Foam Dressing with Adhesive Border 6.5” x 6.5” is composed of three layers: 1- a central polyurethane (PU) foam pad with a size of 4.1” x 4.1” and 5 mm thickness. Foam pad is to lay on exuding wounds and is non-adhesive as long as it is used on actively exuding wounds. 2- a very thin PU backing layer which is soft, white in color, breathable, and reinforced with Spunlace, nonwoven fabric mesh. Note: this layer provides water resistance, but it is not waterproof. Meaning liquid may cross from the outer surface to the inside with some delay (normally about 10-20 mins or longer). Unless the foam is soaked, exudate does not cross from the inner surface to outer surface. This dressing is not suitable for showering or swimming. 3- an adhesive layer composed of medical grade Henkel glue that is adhered onto the second layer, the Spunlace, nonwoven fabric mesh. Note: adhesive should only be applied to normal, healthy skin around the wound. Clean the wound (with sterile saline or another recommended cleansing solution) and then dry.2. Apply Areza Medical Foam Dressing with Adhesive Border over the wound: cover the wound and 1 inch of normal skin beyond the wound area.3. Change the dressing as needed (or per instruction by wound care provider)4. Gently remove the dressing. If the wound appears dry, saturate the dressing with sterile saline water prior to removal.
