Description: For sale is a beautiful antique wash set in the Clematis pattern. This hard to find set was made by the Grindley pottery company in 1897. To be exact the piece is marked “patented September 21, 97 (1997) USA”. The original Grindley mark of England is also present on the bottom side. Both the bowl and pitcher are decorated with floral motifs that feature clematis blossoms, along with smaller flowers. The bowl measures approximately 17.5” x 16” x 4.25”. The pitcher measures approximately 11” tall x 10.5” wide from handle to the lip. This hard to find set is in super condition free of cracks, hairlines, crazing, or known restorations. There is a extra piece of clay that got fired on the inside bottom of the pitcher. There is a pinhead size pop on the front of the pitcher that is totally harmless but being mentioned for accuracy sake only (see pictures). Buyer to pay for shipping.
