Florida Garden Starter Kit | 4 Varieties | 25+ Seeds Each | Chill Hill Farms

Description: Florida Garden Starter Kit4 Varieties | 25+ Seeds EachEgyptian Spinach, Lemon Bee Balm, Pineapple Ground Cherry, Roselle Hibiscus Egyptian Spinach aka 'Molokhia'-Egyptian Spinach or Molokhia loves the hot summer days and can stand quite a bit of drought.Sow seeds in a hot and sunny place in the start of spring. The plants grow quite fast and need lots of room! The flavor is wonderful and its very nutritious, but the leaves can be a bit slimy when chewed raw.Seed pods form like mini-okra and are commonly pickled.Lemon Bee Balm - We planted a half row of Lemon Bee Balm last year and it grew to take over the entire bed! It choked out the majority of Goldie tomato plants, but now we know to give it more room next year. The flowers were the first to bloom in the main garden and they haven't slowed down - even in late September. The large bumble bees come from all over and cling from plant to plant all day long. The orange butterflies are big fans too!We dried quite a bit of Lemon Bee Balm for tea, but it kept wanting to go to seed. The flowers were so beautiful that we didn't have the heart to cut it. Needless to say, we have lots of seed. Get yours today!Pineapple Ground Cherry - We planted a row of Pineapple Ground Cherries on the farm and my did they thrive! The umbrella like plant structure makes way for tiny yellow flowers tucked underneath. The fruit starts shortly after and before we knew it, we had more than we could pick! The fruit is wrapped in a natural wrapper that is pinched back to reveal a beautify protected berry. They taste absolutely amazing! You will wonder why you haven't been eating these your whole life. The fruit can be made into jellies, jams and wine.Roselle Hibiscus aka 'Jamaican Sorrel' - Roselle is our FAVORITE plant on the farm!Gorgeous white & pink flowers start to bloom by Summer with the seed pods forming into fall.We are very particular in when to harvest! We pick 1 pod per week until we both agree it is time.Roselle grows into a bush that will get quite lanky if not trimmed frequently. The plant is very drought resistant. We rarely ever water them! The best part of Roselle is the wonderful fruity tea that is made from the Calyx. The Calyx is the fruit around the seed pod.Once the inner seed pod is removed, we dry these in the hot Florida Sun.The dried fruit is then crumbled by hand and brewed into a tea.Roselle & Lemongrass is our favorite home-made tea blend. But, we have also mixed in Sage, Holy Basil and Thai Basil for an herbal drink. These seeds were harvested in 2021Seed StartingEach seed pack has planting instructions on the back of the packThese 4 are very easy to grow!
