Description: Presented is a very fine quality French silver cruet stand made by Armoud-Edouard Cardeilhac, of the reknown French firm Maison Cardeilhac, between 1851-1890s. This whole piece is made from French first standard silver, which is 950 purity and therefore even higher than sterling 925 purity. The piece is well constructed. The cruet stand is constructed in a navette or boat-shape. The stand holds two good sized cruets or bottles and there are two small holders on the side for removed stoppers to rest. The whole stand is fabulously decorated with elegant gadrooning, shell motifs, fine leaf and scroll repousse work and lacy oyster-shell or water patterns. All hand chased. This is fabulous quality work, and it doesn't get any better than this. The cruet stand does not come with cut glass cruet shown in the photo. The piece is marked several times with the French Minerva head 1st standard 950 silver purity mark and a maker’s mark for Armoud-Edouard Cardeilhac. Everything is guaranteed to be 950 purity silver. This piece is in fabulous condition. There are no missing pieces, no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs. The stand measures 5 1/2 by 10 1/2 inches, is 3 1/2 inches tall. The bottle holders measure 2 7/8 inches in diameter at the top and 2 1/8 inches at the bottom. A smaller bottle will also fit. The weight is 848.7 grams or 29.94 ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
