Description: This large (10.4”Diameter) antique pearlware glazed earthenware dinner plate has a delightful four color hand painted enamel border of stylized flowers. It is maked with the Beehive symbol used by the Staffordshire district pottery owner Samuel Alcock. Alcock owned the Hill Pottery in Burslem, England. He was making both painted and transfer decorated wares in the 1830s. This plate is in excellent condition except for a few minor light stains and some wear on areas of the foot.
