Description: Elegant antique French .800 (nearly sterling) silver & mother of pearl cheese, dessert or entremet sized 12pc knife set with classical acanthus decoration and in the original storage and/or presentation box! Solid shimmering mother of pearl handles, one of my favorites really as they have that extra weight and coolness to the touch. Silver caps & collars with acanthus accents and all in wonderful condition. The blades are solid silver, all bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the rounded outer shape and tiny number "2" within those marks means they're in .800 or better silver (at least 80% pure so just under the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). Silversmith marks are there but only partly legible. A beautiful set, don't miss it! Very good condition. One knife with a very slight separation visible where the pearl handle meets the upper silver collar. Light surface scuffs possible but no damage and no repairs. The box appears original and is in fine shape. See pictures for all measurements.
