Description: Fenton Cranberry Opalescent Hobnail #389 - 8 1/2" Flip Vase COMPANY / MAKER: The Fenton Art Glass Company PATTERN: Hobnail ITEM: #389 CO Flip Vase COLOR: Cranberry Opalescent CIRCA: 1941 - 1944 MEASUREMENT: 8 3/4" H. - 6 W.s" CONDITION: The large 8 3/4" #389 vase was made from the early to mid 1940s. Very few of straight sided flip vases were made compared 100s of double crimped vases made from 1951 through the early 1960s. This hard to find flip (or straight sided) vase has a fantastic deep cranberry color and lots of opalescence. The shape and formation of this vase are outstanding. Every hob on the vase has been examined and has been found to be perfect. This wonderful vase has been thoroughly checked and has been found to be in Undamaged Condition without chips or cracks or mold imperfections. Inside, the vase is nice and clean without residue or sickness from use. The bottom of the vase does have some minor scratching where it was set. This is commonly found and is not a concern for most collectors, but we try to report any and all wear. This piece is so hard to find that you may not want to let this one to escape your grasp. Cranberry Opalescent Hobnail - (1940 - 1990s ) Fenton introduced Cranberry Hobnail in the 1940s. Originally the line was referred to as "Cranberry Hobnail, but the introduction of Cranberry glassware without the opalescence necessitated the name be changed to distinguish the different colors. The line was extensive and over 60 pieces can be obtained today. Cranberry Opalescent Hobnail was extremely well accepted and pieces of this color were sold until the factory closed .
