Description: MAXWELL RF CHOKEByTACTICAL RADIO GEAR, CORP.Feed Line Common Mode Line Isolator 1.8-300 MHzGET RID OF YOUR RFI PROBLEMSOur MAXWELL RF CHOKE design, will significantly reduce or eliminate most RFI problems.Features:1. Isolates the feed-line from your antenna.2. Reduces RFI difficulties in mobile installations, i.e. RV, Truck, Camper, car, boat, et al. 3. Lowers receive noise level, and improves antenna SWR.4. For additional protection, install a second MAXWELL RF CHOKE at the amplifier or radio.5. Our MAXWELL RF CHOKE is made with super high permeability ferrite cores, and RG-142 coax, rated at 3500 watt @ 50 MHz. The double shielded silver coated copper braid can be used with any linear amplifier without attenuation. The Center conductor is made of solid 19ga silver coated wire.6. Our MAXWELL RF CHOKES are used to suppress common mode current on the coax braid which is often responsible for receiver noise and RFI.If you’re in a challenging environment battling RFI, our MAXWELL RF CHOKE is the ideal solution; you can count on the RG142 high-performance coaxial cable, with FEP jacketed cover, capable of operating in temperatures up to 200°C in hostile environments. The cable’s silver-coated center conductor, coupled with two silver-plated copper braids, provides superior shielding and low attenuation losses. Our MAXWELL RF CHOKE can be used between the transceiver and amplifier, or directly at the feed point of the antenna. Only 36” inch long, waterproof and UV proof, our MAXWELL RF CHOKE is enclosed in an adhesive heat shrink covering for maximum weather protection. Our MAXWELL RF CHOKE, features greater common mode noise rejection, wider bandwidth, and higher power capability then most popular filters.MAXWELL RF CHOKE Specifications:· Frequency: 1.8 -300 MHz· Impedance: 50 ohms (nominal) · Insertion loss: <0.1dB at 50 MHz· Power handling: 3.5 kW continuous duty · Connectors: PL-259 & SO-239CONNECTORS· Length: 36 INCHES --- WEIGHT - 10 OZ· Frequency Typical Impedance· 10MHz 1000 Ohms· 25MHz 1400 Ohms· 100MHz 2250 OhmsCertain types of antennas are far more prone to CMC problems than others. Antennas with a lesser amount of CMC problems are symmetrical antennas such as loops and dipoles. Antennas prone to having CMC issues are asymmetrical types, like the popular Off-Center-Fed Dipoles (OCFD). Symmetrical antennas with metal objects under one side (like an RV or a metal roof), and vertical dipoles with the bottom of the antenna close to the ground. A solution, is to place a choke at the antenna feed point, and a choke at the tuner/radio. Our MAXWELL RF CHOKE, [1-300 MHz] ferrite technology, is suitable for most HF amateur and commercial transmitters. Subdues transmitter coax feed line radiation when installed at antenna feed point, and reduces receiver "noise" when installed at radio end of coax. Our MAXWELL RF CHOKE, works with all coax fed antennas from (160-2 meters). Excellent for use with multi-band beams, verticals, and dipoles, and unbalanced off center fed antennas. In order to determine right choke, it is important to understand the characteristics of Common Mode Current across the frequency range it is to be used. A CMI that is >1000 Ohms is a good starting point.
