Description: I don't know the exact age of this beautiful macramé Christmas tree, but I do know the decade. I made one of these in my 20s right out of school using a pattern in a popular macramé publication. This is a traditional 1970's holiday craft piece made from a pattern in a macrame/craft publication from the '70s. It was not a kit. It required intermediate skill, wooden beads, a wooden dowel, a brass ring and the pattern, all of which were listed in the instructions. The resulting tree measures approximately 2.5 inches at the base, end to end from the two red beveled beads. It is about 26 inches from the base of the metal ring to the tip of the fringe on the bottom. The ring is approximately 2.5 inches in diameter. There are 22 round wooden beads, 2 beveled wooden beads, a wooden dowel and green macrame rope tree. The tree is in great vintage condition. The macrame cord is clean with no stains, holes, or pulled threads - the color is bright green and vivid. The beads are also in good condition with no stains or splinters with bright red color. The wooden dowel is sturdy and tightly wrapped. The metal ring is securely attached with no fraying or wear to the cord.
