Description: Name: Eldredgeops milleri Age: Middle Devonian Formation: Silica Formation Location: Sylvania, Ohio Size: Trilobite is 2.65 inches long! We recently acquired some nice fossils from the late Joseph Butterfield Collection (NJ). We will be auctioning these fossils here over the next few weeks. This is a huge example of a classic US trilobite. It is an extremely large Eldredgeops milleri from the Devonian of Ohio. This impressive trilobite is wonderfully prone and very nicely articulated. The distinct fossil is preserved in a very 3-dimensional manner and exhibits very fine detail - the large pustules on the glabella are quite noticeable. The large eyes of the trilobite are very easily seen - almost all of the individual lenses of both eyes are beautifully displayed. The striking trilobite has natural chocolate-brown color that contrasts wonderfully with the light grey matrix. And this bug is well over 2 1/2 inches long - extremely large for an outstretched Ohio Eldredgeops! This is a very large display example of a classic Eldredgeops milleri found decades ago.
