Description: This is a large, rare and unique Longwy Primavera pottery vase. This unusual octagonal vase is enamel-glaze decorated with polychrome geometric linework on the top, which carries into the lower vase surfaces. Each of the octagonal panels are further embellished with highly stylized female nudes and various organics, including cactus and water lily. I can find no examples of this form that have ever been sold. Stands 10 1/4" high and 10" wide. Unsigned. I believe this vase may have been a special commission or possibly an exhibition example. Another possibility is that there may have been a pair originally and the other one is signed. Vase is in perfect condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs. Note: there are a few areas where the thick, heavy glazing bubbled/overfired in the kiln. These are factory flaws and do not detract from this incredible piece. PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR BUSINESS IS ANTIQUES AND VINTAGE COLLECTIBLES. ITEMS ARE PREVIOUSLY LOVED AND MOST NOT IN PERFECT CONDITION UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED. MANY OF THE ITEMS ARE VERY OLD. PLEASE VIEW PHOTOS CAREFULLY AS WE HAVE DONE OUR BEST TO SHOW ANY IMPERFECTIONS IN THE PICTURES. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
