Description: For sale is an Antique / vintage American Hooked rug with tasteful decorative designs. The rug is in great condition. Largely intact with almost no wear. Likely a bit older example with nice muted color and great patina. American hooked rugs began to be created in the 1840's and were a frugal way of making rugs using extra bits of fabric or pieces of old clothes. They often used a burlap backing as that was readily available from feedsacks.
