Description: For sale is a cream pitcher made by Evans Pottery of Dexter, MO. Pitcher measures 4 1/4" tall x 3 1/2" across the middle, 2 1/2" across the base, and 5 1/4" across the top including the spout and handle. Heavy utilitarian pitcher weighs an ounce shy of a pound. It has the rough "pine cone" texture and a very uneven brown and very dark glaze. The dark glaze has been flaking away from the pitcher. Top rim glaze has worn away and there are some small chips on it. There are small flakes of brown glaze wear on the texture. There are no large chips. There is a 1/2" tight crack at the handle bottom that does not go all the way through the handle. Shown in last photos. It comes from the estate of an Evans Pottery collector in Missouri. Evans Pottery, Dexter, Missouri was in production from the 1850's (started as Semmimon family pottery and changed to Evans late 1800's) until the 1960's.
